Decorating the Baby Room Floor With Designer Baby Nursery Rugs

Once you have chosen the main theme for your baby room, or nursery, then the time comes when you need to choose the decor that will give the nursery its finished look.

One decor item that some may dismiss as old fashioned is a rug; maybe even one or more rugs. However, rugs can still be an attractive selection even in a modern home. If the nursery has a plain carpet, or even an exposed timber floor, then you may wish to finish off your overall nursery decor design with at least one rug, in keeping with your other decor.

If, for example, you have opted for a Western nursery theme, then the rug pictured above left could well be a good addition to your Western decor. This horse shaped rug will serve a double purpose. Not only is it an attractive and functional rug, that will blend well with your chosen Western theme, but as we all know, babies soon start to love animals and to take interest in them. With this horse rug so prominent on the floor, you can be assured that your baby will very soon learn what a horse is, so the rug will become an aid to teaching baby.

Many parents like to stick to a color theme for a bedroom, including a nursery room. The middle picture shown (above left) is a good contender for a pink theme nursery, for those who already know a girl is on the way, or has even arrived already. This pink floral designer rug could look just right in many girls nurseries, but could rest just as easily in a bathroom of similar color theme.

The final picture has a boyish/neutral look about it, with the yellow toning it down somewhat from the extreme blue baby boy's room. The pastel shades of this last rug could go with either yellow or blue color themes.
